Science Week

This year British science week was all about adapting and changing, as a school we thought about how we could re-think the way we look at fashion. We decided to adapt some of our old clothes. We made T shirts into skirts, trousers into skirts and sleeves into handbags.
We all got to tie dye T shirts using natural dye. We used cabbage, carrot, onion skin and turmeric to make us into a rainbow of tie dye in our celebration assembly.
We also thought about how things in the world can be adapted so that everyone can have access to them. Some of us played sports that have been adapted for people with physical disabilities. It helped give us an insight into how the world can be adapted to be inclusive for all.
We also thought about how we could change or adapt our lifestyles to improve our health. We measured how many steps it took to get around our track and we also measured how much our heart rates had increased. We are now thinking about how much healthier we could be if we walked to school and how much healthier the air would be in Brighton.
