World Book Day

For World Book Day we studied the author Roald Dahl. In KS1 we looked at the story of the Enormous Crocodile. We invented our own tricks, made a sea of adjectives and designed our own enormous crocodile.

In KS2 we looked at the story of George’s Marvellous Medicine. We read different parts of the book and produced some fantastic writing. We made a medicine of our own to do something kind, wrote character descriptions of Grandma and wrote poetry and spells about our medicine.

'Roald Dahl’s hilarious story starring George, a mischievous and accidental scientist! George Kranky’s grandma is a miserable grouch. George really hates that horrid old witchy woman. One Saturday morning, he is in charge of giving Grandma her medicine. So-ho! Ah-ha! Ho-hum! George knows exactly what to do. A magic medicine* it will be. One that will either cure her completely . . . or blow off the top of her head.' (Puffin schools)
